Eden

I woke up in the tall grass, and blinked a few times in the beautiful sunset. The sky was purple. I stood up slowly, and looked out over the horizon. The sunset stretched all the way across. I immediately saw a rock in front of me. It was large, slanted, and gray. I could lay on it all day and watch the beauty go by. To my left, here was a small pond with water as clear as a bell, and clean enough to drink out of. No fish. To my right, a tree stood tall with its leaves dangling off of a vine strong enough to climb up. And that’s what I did. I climbed to the top of the tree, and saw a large landscape that lasted forever. I looked out, and knew that God could create something so beautiful in a cesspool of sin. I was at peace…

But, I noticed something was missing. I was lonely. I was completely alone.

Then, I saw the tall grass around the other side of the pond part away. A white flower floated across my vision, and her brown hair flipped around. It was her. They girl I would spend eternity with. She gave company to the lonely, happiness to the sad, and comfort to the weary.  She waved at me, and walked towards me. At that moment, it really was…

     …Perfect…

  1. Wow… I’ve never seen you write anything like this before. I loved it, and the way you described it…it felt like I was there.

  2. Josh, I’ve read everything else, but this is my favorite. :]
